According to documents released by the Federal Election Commission, President Donald Trump’s campaign has already raised more than $20 million in just over a year of fundraising.

This comes as no surprise considering that Trump filed for re-election on the day of his inauguration. However, what is shocking is the rate at which he is raising funds.

Comparatively, President Barack Obama waited two years before beginning fundraising and President George W. Bush raised around $250,000, according to the FEC.

“Never before has a president’s campaign committee raised so much in his first year in office, and never has a president enjoyed so much support from small donors who continue to rally around him,” Lara Trump, senior adviser for Donald J. Trump for President Inc., said in a statement.

These surprising numbers show how serious the president is about being re-elected, and it does not seem like campaign contributions will slow down any time soon.
