Stories of a Clinton death list have circulated online for years, but a Chinese-American businessman at the center of the infamous “Chinagate” scandal truly believed the Clintons would send a squad of assassins after him.

Johnny Chung, a Clinton fundraiser who was convicted of illegally funneling money from Chinese officials to the 1996 re-election campaign of Bill Clinton, filmed a secret, tell-all video in 2000 as an “insurance policy”in the event of his assassination, according to London’s Daily Mail.

Johnny Chung gave the secret footage to his friends and family, telling them to give it to the media if he turned up dead.

Chung, who is reportedly alive and living in China, was a top player in the mid-1990s “Chinagate” scandal. He was accused of contributing more than $300,000 to the Democratic National Committee on behalf of China’s military intelligence agency.

Chung visited the White House 57 times in just two years, mostly with Hillary or her staff, and eight of his visits were “off the books.” During one visit, he personally gave a $50,000 check to Hillary’s chief of staff, Maggie Williams.

In 1998, Chung was sentenced to five years probation for campaign finance violations, tax evasion and bank fraud.

“Game of Thorns” author Doug Wead obtained Chung’s video and provided excerpts of it to the Daily Mail.

In the footage, Chung says he worried he would be murdered after he admitted to funneling the money to Clinton’s 1996 campaign. He said Democrats instructed him to stay quiet about his transactions with the Clintons. And, Chung claims, the FBI attempted to use him in a sting targeting a top Chinese general, Gen. Ji Shengde, at a Los Angeles airport.

In “Game of Thorns,” Wead reveals that a former government official advised Chung to make the secret video while Chung was in hiding. The official reportedly told him his “odds of survival actually increased by going public.”

Wead wrote, “[Chung] received a friendly visit from a retired government official, friendly with the FBI, who perhaps felt guilty about the treatment Chung had been given after agreeing to come forward and tell the truth.

“And so, with assistance from the former government official, Johnny Chung produced an elaborate videotaped testimony that was secreted to friends and family to be forwarded to the media in the case of his death.”

Democrats on the House Committee of Government Reform tried to discourage Chung from testifying publicly before the committee, Chung says in his video. They sent Chung’s attorney a letter suggesting that the Clinton fundraiser plead the Fifth Amendment.

“Chung said his attorney thought the letter was ‘ludicrous’ and a veiled threat from Washington Democrats that they wanted Chung to stay quiet,” the Daily Mail reported.

In the video, Chung said, “‘My attorney is a fine and good attorney in the West Coast. Besides, every good American attorney, they know how to take the Fifth …[the Democrats] sent a package to my attorney for one purpose.”

Chung began believing he could be a target for assassination after he agreed to cooperate with “Chinagate” prosecutors. That’s when the FBI began offering him full-time protection.

But just days before Chung was supposed to testify before a grand jury, the FBI headquarters abruptly ended his protection detail. Chung was told he’d have to travel alone.

In the secret video, Chung said concerns about his safety weren’t taken seriously. He said one U.S. attorney told him to “call 9-1-1” if he feared for his life.

“I called the FBI office and offered to [speak with] the U.S. assistant attorney again on the phone,” Chung said in the footage.

“And he said, ‘Mr. Chung, your case is over. As a normal American citizen, what do you do if you feel your life is in danger? You just call 9-1-1.”

Ultimately, Chung testified before the committee, telling members that the Clintons “used me as much as I used them.”

In the video, Chung is interviewed by his friend, Bob Abernethy, a software executive in California.

Abernethy told the Daily Mail that the footage was recorded as a form of “life insurance” before Chung testified.

“The reason Johnny asked me to do this interview with him was to make the information publicly available [in case of his death] and also as a type of ‘life insurance’ since he was very concerned about his safety,” Abernethy revealed.

“His concern about his safety was understandable, given that there had been three attempts on his life which required FBI protection … and given his knowledge of what happened to people such as Ron Brown, who as secretary of commerce, was deeply involved in arranging – and selling seats on – Clinton administration trade missions to China.”

Brown is one of those spine-tingling cases in our list of people associated with the Clintons who have died the most mysterious and often violent deaths.

As WND reported, Brown died in a plane crash in 1996 after Hillary dispatched him on a dubious mission to a war-torn corner of the world in Croatia.

“To protect his son Michael from prison, Ron Brown threatened to expose the White House’s yet unrevealed Asian fundraising scheme, in which Brown had played a major role,” wrote WND contributor and investigative writer Jack Cashill. “Just weeks before his death, Brown started going to church for the first time in ages. He was scared for his life and that of his confidante, Nolanda Hill.”

Plane crash that killed U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown in 1996.

Cashill noted that the Croatian government suddenly insisted on a Dubrovnik stop, a two-mile deviation from the flight path that the Air Force said was “inexplicable.”

“For the first time ever on friendly soil, the White House ordered the Air Force to skip the ‘safety’ phase of the investigation and move directly to the ‘accident’ phase,” Cashill wrote. “There would be no consideration other than accident, even though the airport was near the Bosnian border and in a potential hot fire zone.

“Three days after the crash and two days before his scheduled interview by the Air Force, the Croatian responsible for the airport’s navigation system was found dead with a bullet hole in his chest,” Cashill continued. “A day later, every pathologist who viewed Brown’s body back in America concluded that his head wound, at the very least, looked like a bullet hole.”

There would be no autopsy. No forensic testing. No search for an exit wound. Head X-rays were destroyed, or “lost.”

“The three Armed Forces pathologists and the forensic photographer who blew the whistle on this case had their careers destroyed,” Cashill wrote. “… The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology brass assured the public that Brown dies of ‘multiple blunt force injuries to the head.’ He was the only one of the 35 victims to have a reported head wound.”

But Brown wasn’t the only mysterious death when it came to Clinton scandals involving the Chinese.

Former U.N. official John Ashe with Hillary Clinton

Former United Nations General Assembly President John Ashe was found dead in His New York home in June 2016, and the cause of death was reported as a heart attack. But the local Dobbs Ferry police said “his throat had been crushed, presumably by a barbell he dropped while pumping iron.”

Ashe was scheduled to testify in just days with Chinese businessman and co-defendant Ng Lap Seng, who was accused of smuggling $4.5 million into the U.S. and lying that it was to buy casino chips and more. The New York Post said Ng earlier was identified in a 1998 Senate document “as the source of hundreds of thousands of dollars illegally funneled through an Arkansas restaurant owner, Charlie Trie, to the Democratic National Committee during the Clinton administration.”

In yet another case, Daniel Dutko, 54, the co-chairman of the Democratic National Committee fundraising effort, Leadership 2000, reportedly died from head injuries in a mountain biking accident in Aspen. Authorities said Dutko was not wearing a helmet and hit his head on the pavement twice. He was in Aspen for a fundraiser attended by President Clinton. Dutko had also been vice chairman of finance for the Clinton-Gore campaign in 1995.

Dutko served as vice chairman of finance for the DNC in 1996, when thousands of dollars were funneled from a Chinese military officer to Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign.

In that same year, the Clinton administration reversed a State Department policy that categorized satellites as “munitions,” making it easier for China to launch American satellites and even acquire sensitive technology.

On July 3, attorney Shawn Lucas, 38, helped serve the DNC with a lawsuit claiming then-DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz “rigged the primary for Hillary Clinton.”

The complaint was served before Wasserman Schultz resigned amid the Wikileaks email scandal on July 24.

Less than one month after he helped serve the lawsuit, Lucas’ girlfriend found him dead in his bathroom. Now that’s just a little bit telling, isn’t it?
