Left-wing media figures rushed to threaten (big shocker) violent riots on Friday evening if President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) dare attempt to fill the Supreme Court seat now vacated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away earlier in the day.

Reza Aslan, who used to have a show on CNN, responded by writing: “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f***ing thing down.”

Political writer Laura Bassett echoed a similar sentiment, but stopped short of making an actual threat, writing: “If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots. … *more, bigger riots.”

Australian astrophysicist Dr. Jessie Christiansen tweeted: “IF THEY RAM THROUGH AN APPOINTMENT IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS I WILL RIOT.

Writer Beau Willimon wrote: “We’re shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment before the election.”

Political commentator Katie Herzog wrote: “All we can hope for in times like these is that Mitch McConnell has a stroke from laughing too hard.

To clarify: I don’t want him to die. I just want him to be brain dead. I’m not a monster.”

Another leftist wrote: “tell me when we’re meeting outside Mitch McConnell’s house.”

Professor Emmett Macfarlane wrote on Twitter: “Burn Congress down before letting Trump try to appoint anyone to SCOTUS.”

It’s not clear weather these individuals understand the weight of their words however, we are expecting to hear an announcement from the White House at any time now because as President, he is OBLIGATED to do so and we would expect no less from Obama or any of the other Presidents we’ve ever had in office at any other time. Threats not withstanding, this is America as we do not negotiate with terrorists.

As such, the President has posted the following on Twitter.

UPDATE: PRESIDENT TRUMP TO SENATE: “VOTE ‘WITHOUT DELAY’ ON MY HIGH COURT PICK!”

There WILL Be Election Security Issues To Be Decided By The Court Before Election Day!

President Donald Trump has urged the Republican-run Senate today to consider “without delay” his upcoming nomination to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg just six weeks before the election.

The White House was making preparations to select a nominee for the seat held by Ginsburg, who spent her final years on the bench as the unquestioned leader of the court’s liberal wing.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., vowed on Friday night, hours after Ginsburg’s death, to call a vote for whomever Trump nominates.
